Everest Base Camp Trekking

14 Days Autumn, Spring & Summer Nepal
Description:

One of the challenging and adventurous treks for adventure lovers is the Everest Base Camp trek. At the altitude of 5170m, the trek to EBC is the journey everyone aspires to be a part of. Residing in the core of the Khumbu Region, EBC presents the lifetime experience and glory of beholding the Greatest Himalayas from a very close distance. Mt. Everest, Mt Lhotse, Mt, Makalu, Mt Amadablam, Mt Pumori and the other Himalayas can be viewed from Kala Patthar which lies in the itinerary of Everest Base Camp. Moving along the settlements of Sherpa people, exploring their lifestyle and culture, the diversity of ecosystems and farmlands, the journey is one of a kind. But one thing is for sure, once you complete the trek you will feel the sense of glory and pride of being at the base of the World’s Highest Peaks beholding them right in front of you. Be ready to live the dream you will cherish forever as an adventure lover.

The trail follows along the Dudhkoshi river offering the glimpses of varieties of Floras and Faunas like Blue Sheep, Musk Deer, Danphe, Monal and other rare species including Snow Leopard and Yeti which you might not encounter. Major attractions of the trek are Lukla, Namche Bazaar, Lobuche, Gorakshep, Kalapatthar and other Stupas, Gompas, and monasteries in the Trail.

Itinerary:

Once you land at the hotel and complete your immigration process, our representative will meet and greet you and drop you at the hotel. After few hours od rest, we will see you for the welcome dinner.  Hotel: Bed and Breakfast

After having breakfast at the hotel early in the morning, we will head to the airport and take a domestic flight to Lukla, a town in the Khumbu region with better facilities compared to other parts. since the flight is going to be a shorter one, we will start our trek to Phakding.

Namche Bazaar is a prominent town/settlement in the Khumbu region with its diverse culture and attractions. Moving up from Phakding through the dense pine and rhododendron forests along the Dudhkoshi and Bhotekoshi rivers, the trail gets steeper till we reach Namche Bazaar.

As Namche Bazaar lies at an altitude higher than the threshold, we stop and rest at Namche Bazaar to acclimatize ourselves. On the day of rest, we can visit the Everest View Hotell to have the look of amazingly beautiful Mt Everest and other Himalayan Range.

After acclimatizing at Namche Bazaar for a day, we slowly ascend toward Thyangboche where we can visit the monastery which is considered as the oldest monastery of the Khumbu region.  Lodge: B/L/D

While descending and ascending through the luscious Coniferous Forests of Pine Cedars, Firs and Rhododendron along the Imja Valley, we reach Dingboche.

From Dingboche, we slowly ascend towards Lobuche, the base of Mt Lobuche. Lobuche is a small settlement area with very few lodges. It offers the iconic view of major mountains. Lodge: B/L/D

Leaving Lobuche behind, we move towards Gorak Shep the last settlement before EBC. From there the trail moves along the Khumbu Glacier moraine and finally the Base Camp. The base camp offers you the view of the great Mt Everest and the Khumbu Icefall. After spending some mesmerizing time at the Base Camp, we descend to Gorak Shep for a night stay. Lodge: B/L/D

The Everest Base Camp trek is incomplete without watching the Sunrise from Kalapatthar. So, we hike to Kalapatthar to see the beautiful Sun rising from behind the mountains. It must be one of the most beautiful views that can ever exist. Although the trail is steep and tough, the 360º view of Mt Everest will make it feel worth it. We then move back to Gork Shep and back to Dingboche for the overnight stay. Lodge: B/L/D

During our descent, we will be able to cover more distance so we will trek directly to Namche Bazaar from Dingboche leaving Thyangboche on the way. Reach Namche Bazaar and explore the remaining places if time is available. Lodge: B/L/D

Following the same trail back but covering more distance and leaving Phakding behind we reach Lukla from Namche Bazaar. We rest for the overnight at Lukla and prepare to fly back to Kathmandu.

After breakfast at the lodge in Lukla, we take the domestic flight back to Kathmandu. The flight time is short and feels even shorter as we indulge in the views of the Himalayas. After landing, you will be guided to the hotel where you can rest.

Its the day of relaxation and fun. So you will be guided by our professional guide through the beautiful corners of the Kathmandu city. The prime locations to visit are the Swayambhunath Temple, Bhaktapur, Kathmandu and Patan Durbar Squares and other heritage sites. We will see you in the evening for the farewell dinner.
