As remote and isolated Dolpa is, so is its beauty and charm. It is one of the most gorgeous but least developed districts of Nepal. Rich in beautiful valleys, ancient and primitive kinds of settlements, dense green lush forests of Pine, Rhododendron, and Juniper, Dolpo also offers the mesmerizing views of gigantic mountains in the background. The landscapes and formation of this region are quite unique and serene, different from the rest trekking destinations. Its remoteness and isolation have prevented many travelers from reaching this place but recently adventure seekers are found to be much interested in places like Dolpo which are not less than any paradise. Hence, it was also featured in the movie named “Himalayas” and is the inspiration for the book “The Himalayan Leopard”.

This amazing trek near the Nepal-Tibet Border offers the opportunity to witness the great Shey Phoksundo Lake, explore the unique villages of Ringmo and centuries-old monasteries.  The baked landscape between the Dhaulagiri Chain and the Tibetan plateau is rich in ancient Tibetan Buddhist Culture. You will witness various prayer flags, artistic monasteries, traditional lifestyle of people in their pristine form, untouched by modern influence. he trail passes through Kangmara La Pass, Nagdala La Pass and Tyonta offering great and majestic views of the mountains.

Itinerary:

Arrival in Kathmandu and Transfer at the Hotel.

Early in the morning, we will have breakfast and then go for a short sightseeing. Then we will take a flight to Nepalgunj. 

Then we will take a flight from Nepalgunj to Juphal and start our trek to Dunai. Rest overnight in a tented camp.

Trek from Dunai to Chhepka (2,687m)

Trek from Chhepka to Amchi Hospital (3000m)

Trek from Amchi Hospital to Phoksundo Lake (3600m). Phoksundo lake being at such a high altitude is the deepest lake. It is very beautiful and offers a wide variety of  Floras and faunas to explore.

After exploring the lake area, we will resume our trek to Sallaghari.

Walking through the dense forests of Pine and Junipers, we will move towards Kangla Base Camp and rest overnight.

From Kangla Base Camp we will ascend to cross the Kangmarala Pass and trek to Shey Gompa where we will rest for the night.

Trek from Chhegur Cave to Tarakot

Trek from Tarakot to Juphal

Fly from Juphal to Nepalgunj and to Kathmandu
