Three High Pass Trek

The Everest Three High Passes Trek is one of the most promising and adventurous treks one can aim for. Renjo La Pass(5345m), Cho La Pass(5420m) and Kong Ma Pass(5171m) are the major passes commonly known as Three High Passes.  Going after the three high passes in the Everest Region requires a lot of stamina and courage as well as a lot of practice and training in the climbing field. Lying in the Khumbu region, the trails pass through the Sagarmatha National Park offering wide varieties of Flora and Fauna, diverse vegetation from green lush forests to barren stony landscapes to snowy mountains and variation of altitude and climatic conditions. The maximum elevation in this trek is 5545m. The major highlights of this trek are the thrilling flight to Lukla, exploration of Namche Bazaar, the lifestyle and culture of Sherpas living in the hidden corners of Khumbu Region; breathtaking gorges, glaciers, rocky paths, streams; floras and faunas in the National Park, and most importantly the panoramic views of major peaks like Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Pumori, Mt. Ama Dablam, Mt. Lobuche, Mt. Kongde, etc. Undoubtedly, the trail to these passes is very difficult, adventurous and worth trekking. The Gokyo Village is another major attraction in this trek from where you can hike to Gokyo Ri and explore Gokyo Lakes. The overall journey will fill your hearts with thrill and give you an adrenaline rush throughout.

Itinerary:

Our representative will meet and greet you at the airport and drop you at the hotel for you to rest. In the evening we will see you for the welcome dinner. Hotel: B/B

Today we will prepare ourselves for the trekking. We will fulfill all the official formalities and documents and also go shopping if required. Hotel: Bed and Breakfast

After having breakfast at the hotel early in the morning, we will head to the airport and take a domestic flight to Lukla, a town in the Khumbu region with better facilities compared to other parts. since the flight is going to be a shorter one, we will start our trek to Phakding.   

Namche Bazaar is a prominent town/settlement in the Khumbu region with its diverse culture and attractions. Moving up from Phakding through the dense pine and rhododendron forests along the Dudhkoshi and Bhotekoshi rivers, the trail gets steeper till we reach Namche Bazaar. We stay at Namche Bazaar for the next day to acclimatize ourselves

We ascend from Namche Bazaar exploring its beauty towards Dibuche, a small settlement in the trail to the three high pass trek. Lodge: B/L/D

On this day, we move toward Dingboche. A village in the Khumbu region with accommodation as well as banking facilities. We stay here one more day to acclimatize ourselves. Lodge: B/L/D

From Dingboche, we gradually ascend towards Chhukung, a valley that lies on the south side of Mt. Lhotse and Mt. Nuptse by the Lho and Nu Glaciers. It extends from the west part of Dingboche Valley to join the Pheriche valley in the Khumbu Region. Lodge: B/L/D

Today we will trek through one of the three high passes. the Kongma La Pass at the altitude of 5535m. The trail ascends from the Imja Khola valley to reach the top of the pass, which then descends towards the Khumbu Glacier.  Camping

After passing through Kongma La Pass, we reach Lobuche from where we trek to Gorak shep that leads to the Everest Base Camp to witness the great Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, and other remarkable peaks. We then move to Gorak Shep to rest overnight.

Today, we trek to Kala Patthar, the highest altitude of the whole trek, to view the glorious sunrise and panoramic view of the Khumbu Region and Everest Range. Then we move back to Lobuche.

After experiencing the lifetime joy of viewing the panorama of the world's highest mountains, we move from Lobuche to Dzongla. The trail ascends and descends and might also get slippery so it is advised to be extremely careful while descending in the snowy region.

Today we will cross another pass; the Cho La Pass at 5480m to reach Thagna. First, we ascend to reach the Cho La Pass and gradually descend to Thagna at 4700m. 

Gokyo Valley is a small village settlement in the Solukhumbu Region primarily for the trekkers and climbers and is the one of the highest settlements in the world at an altitude of 4750m. From here, we will climb the Gokyo Ri at 5757m to see the iconic view of the mountains.

After climbing the Gokyo Ri, we trek from Gokyo to Marlung via the Renjo La Pass at 5360m. Marlung is the largest village settlement in the Thame Valley mostly popular as a tea stop for trekkers and travelers.  

Crossing the steep descends, we move to Namche Bazaar to rest overnight. 

After exploring the versatility of Namche Bazaar, we trek down to Lukla and rest in a lodge.

We take a domestic flight to Kathmandu enjoying the views of cities and settlements and mountains throughout. After landing, we rest at the hotel and gather for the farewell dinner.

Its the end of the trek and its time for farewell. Our representative will see you off at the airport for your final departure.
