Adventure Activities Awaits You

Tharpu Chuli | Tent Peak Climbing

18 Days Spring, Autumn and Summer Nepal

Tent Peak (5,844m), also called the Tharpu Chuli peak in the south part of the Annapurna Region is a great choice for amateur mountaineers. Less challenging and technical than Mera peaks and Island Peak, Tent peak does not fail to offer the adventure, thrill and panoramic 360 degrees view when reached the top. The trek passes through the Annapurna Sanctuary and following the rushing Modi Khola, which makes the journey very relaxing and refreshing. The Tent Peak Climbing takes the adventure beyond simply trekking.

Tent peak climbing can be regarded as a preliminary experience for climbing higher mountains. Even though the climb is not very difficult, one needs to have a very good physical health condition and needs to acclimatize well before actually starting the climb. For this, we can combine the climb with some popular treks in the Annapurna region like Annapurna Base camp Trek, Poonhill and Tadapani Trek and many more. It will not only acclimatize your body but also strengthen your body and prepare yourself for the peak climbing.

The trail encompasses a wide variety of floras and faunas in the Annapurna Conservation Area, the variation in ecosystem and vegetation, the picturesque villages, dense forests, snowy glaciers, stunning views of the mountains in the Annapurna Range and many more. The most attractive element of this trek is also the hospitality of indigenous people who live in harmony and follow very simple and primitive lifestyles.

We start our trek from Ghandruk, a popular tourist destination, then leading to Machhapuchhre Base Camp and Annapurna Base Camp. After crossing the South Annapurna Glacier, we reach the base camp where we spend a day for acclimatization and move on to the High Camp and finally summit the peak. We will be following the standard Northwest Ridge for the summit.

We will be waiting for your arrival at the airport. As soon as you land and complete your immigration, we will meet and greet you and drop you off at the hotel to rest. We will then see you for the welcome dinner in the evening.

On this day, we will fulfill all the required documentation, check for all gears and equipments and also conduct a briefing about the Tent Peak Climbing.

After early morning breakfast, we will take a short domestic flight to Pokhara, the city of Lakes in Nepal. We will freshen up at the hotel and go sightseeing in the Lakeside.

From Pokhara, we leave early in the morning to reach Naya Pul where we will be dropped by our jeep. Then we start our trek to Ghandruk, a beautiful small village popular for beautiful views and Gurung culture. Rest overnight in a lodge.

The next stop in this journey is Chhomrong. After about 6 hours of trekking from Ghandruk, we will reach Chhomrong to rest overnight.

The trail passes through green forests of pine, cedar, rhododendrons, deodars and many more releasing exotic scents and fresh air. Resting at different stops/ Chautaris, we move towards Dobhan.  Rest overnight in a lodge.

The trail from Dobhan to Deurali slowly ascends and after a strenuous walk of 2 hours, we will reach Deurali and rest for the day. We can go and explore the surrounding areas in the evening time.

The elevation from Deurali leads us to Machhapuchhhre Base Camp at 3700m. Upon reaching here, we will go on short hikes to nearby areas and stay here the next day too for acclimatization.

The base camp for the Tent Peak or Tharpu Chuli is situated at an altitude of 4,250m. After walking for about 4-5 hours from the Machhapuchhre Base Camp, we will reach the Base Camp and conduct some climbing training.

We will require to set up a high camp at 5000m to summit the Tent Peak.

Our professional climbers will set up the rope routes fro you. Following the route, you will summit the peak and admire the panoramic view of the nearby Himalayan ranges. then we will gradually move back to the High Camp.

Upon our return, we will cover much distance and rest directly at the Machhapuchhre Base Camp. It will be around 6-7 hours of descent to reach there.
